Really enjoyed the depth in both parts of the article. I use a technique I called reversing assumptions — I look through my initial brainstorming notes and make reverse assumptions based on what is noted there. So if I initially think that I’m creating a solution for extraverts, I ask “what about introverts?”. I take both of those sides to do my field research — both in surveys and interviews. And the result is a spectrum. In some cases this confirms my initial assumption and that’s okay and gives me more confidence. In most cases, I can see how many potential users I would reject or force to adapt to something they may not like. Those may end up being missed opportunities and business goals.
